Hi all. I’m at it again–my third endurance event with Team in Training. This time I’m participating in my first triathlon–Memphis in May. Last night was our first spinning class and workout of the season. I really, really liked it. I think this event will be especially fun because there is so much variety in the training–instead of running, running, and more running that goes with marathon training. My reason for participating a third time is Team in Training funded the research for the drug that is saving Eric, my husband’s, life. At the Kick-off event on Saturday I met Rodney. He’s probably in his 40s or 50s. He has CLL. There is not yet a cure for his type of leukemia. When he was diagnosed, he was given 10 years to live. He is such a positive man. He participated in the Rock N Roll Marathon in Phoenix in January. It is difficult to believe some diseases have no cure. So I’m hoping to bring some more attention to the cause and be pro-active in raising funds for research to save someone else’s life. Please join with me!
