It is finally ready to be unveiled. Thanks to Eric’s mastery and one really cool help from me with html, KatyRenee is here. I intend for it to be a gallery of my work. Enjoy! The pictures currently there are from my senior collection (Spring 2004). I realize that is much outdated so I have another collection in the works to hone my planning, illustration, pattern making, and sewing skills. More about that later!!
Peace,
^_^

I was tagged by Jillian from Inside My Sewing Box to show y’all what is in my bag. I find it funny that her blog is called “Inside My Sewing Box” and she tagged me to show “Inside My Bag.” I am currently carrying an awesome Fossil bag–a Christmas gift from my in-laws. First, here it is full. I had to show y’all the pockets. One holds my cell phone and ipod, the other my new digital camera. Eric took the photos, since my camera is a part of my bag.

Here’s the contents. I have my wallet, some Moo Cards, my digital camera, my glasses case, cell phone, Moleskine, lots of gum–I’m flying tomorrow, nail file, pedometer, tape measure, Aleve, my work ID badge, my ipod should be there (I think I left it at work), headphones, and several pens/mechanical pencil. It is definitely more organized than usual since the purse is new!
I’d like to tag AfricanKelli.
Like I said, I am flying tomorrow. I’m headed to New York for work. I don’t have a laptop, Eric borrowed and broke mine. Actually, the laptop was a bit old, and had a malfunction but when we figured it out it was dead and past warranty. It is just easier to say that Eric broke it. So, I’m not expecting to have internet access. My projects and posts will be put on hold.
I was able to start on the shower curtain, but didn’t have enough fabric to finish this weekend. It is quite an eclectic project. In other project news, my friend and her pregnant sister loved the skirt. So I’ll be progressing on that.
Peace,
^_^
Tonight I’ve been very happily working on projects. I lined a wool skirt for a friend and am now working on a skirt for her to wear to her sister’s baby shower. Here are some pics of the skirt in progress. I’m not sure if the ruffle will be this material or not yet. Time will tell.
From the side view you can see how ruffly the ruffle is. I zigzaged a small width of elastic down the center. I’m definitely stuck on elastic at the moment. On the last shirt I made, I used elastic on the sleeves and waist and love the results!
These are photos on our dining table. My work table is also a dining table we snagged at a garage sale. My back aches from bending over it. I hope soon we’ll have a bit more space so I can build a higher table at my height!
Other projects this weekend include working on Jillian’s tote, making the pattern from my new pants. I wore them twice this week and received compliments both times!! And I’ll be trying to piece together a shower curtain from old bedding headers they were getting rid of at work. I’ve never quilted before, and I’m not doing anything more intricate than squares, so I hope it isn’t too bad!
Peace,
^_^ Katy
I am alive. No photos today. I caught a moment and figured better to blog rather than wait for a moment I can do photos and blog. Plus, I’m being super-spoiled at the moment, Eric is fixing my dinner! I am working on a Project Blogway swap with Jillian. So I am working on ideas for her tote. She is starting her own handbag business, so I look forward to what she designs for me. I also feel the pressure to create something great for her that she’ll use and love.
I threw together a few sketches for a friend’s skirt and am working on sketches for Jillian as well. I’m still planning on creating a pattern off of my new pants, but it may get pushed off until the weekend.
I don’t know what the weather is like in your neck of the woods, but in St. Louis it is gorgeous. Today was in the high 60s/low 70s. So I took advantage of the weather and went running. My legs are complaining today!
I bought the coolest pair of denim slacks yesterday. I have visions of using them to create some baby blue ones with sailor type buttons and some light khaki denim ones. I’ll be working on designs and muslins tonight and have pictures for y’all tomorrow.
In the photo department, I took some pics of me trying on pants. I love the pocket detailing. The pants didn’t make it in my bag, but I plan on incorporating some unique designs like these!

Also, I’ve been cooking. I made up a recipe–so don’t ask for too many details. I cut up a few onions, mushrooms, and carrots and put them in the pot with some olive oil and cooked that for a bit. Then, I added a dab of chicken stock and lots of water, a can of black beans, and some frozen artichoke tortellini. Nothing else. It cooked for a bit. Here’s the result. Yummy!!

I also took, downloaded, and exported these images all by myself. I’m proud!
Peace,
^-^
Hi all. I just downloaded my first batch of pics. Not nearly as interesting as I originally remembered, but hey. It is a start!
I organized on Sunday. Now our house is spic and span and we started off the New Year right… Didn’t we? Okay so deciding none of the images I took were worth the effort to upload and since Eric, my IT guy aka hubby, isn’t around to help me figure out how resize the image in iPhoto–am I dumb?**added 1/4–Turns out I’m not so dumb. You have to do it when you export the photos.** There will be no photos. But I promise. Soon.
Also, went to the library today for the 5 or 6th time since November–it is my new addiction. I think I may be a snob or something. I went to pick them up–4–yes, I may not read them all the way through, but I couldn’t decide and the guy behind the counter was not exactly cordial. I’m keeping him in a job, right? Or am I checking out books other people want to? Or is it because I requested them online so I didn’t have to traipse all over to collect them and could instead just walk to the desk. Sigh. I think I take things way to personally. Welcome to my world.
Peace,
^-^
I ran across an awesome idea via Final Fashion. Anyone else interested in a swap of sorts–and not the “sewing with a plan” variety of swap. I already have one item on the docket–a cute baby shower skirt for the most consistently stylish person I know. Her website will be up in final form soon–her goal is Feb. 1, but for now, go check it out. So if anyone else is game, I am up for a February project. How fun is this?
Also, I got my very own stylish digital camera for Christmas so more photos of my stuff will be up soon. I think I’m off the baby present kick–until all my gal pals plan for number 2!
I cut out the first muslin–fabric sample–of my dressform. It is a bit large, but it is a huge step and hopefully I’ll be stitching up the final soon! Fun, fun!
Peace
^-^
